Marlboro Electric Cooperative
Marlboro Electric Cooperative serves all its members cost effectively. While all of Marlboro's rates are designed to recover the basic cost of service for each class of customer, our rates also provide the cooperative with a reasonable level of working capital.

Based on this cost of service concept, a special rate classification is made available to Marlboro from its wholesale power supplier for its largest power customers.

Progress Energy
Marlboro County is also served by Progress Energy, an investor-owned electric utility providing service in South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida. Progress Energy has the experience and capabilities to provide power for even the most sophisticated electric requirements. Progress Energy currently serves more than 1.2 million customers in the Carolinas within 30,000 square miles, including over 5,000 industrial accounts.
